The Regions of Spain
Despite Spain uniting and becoming a stronger country after the civil war it is still made of up 17 different regions that all have their own governors and are proud of their autonomy. Many of these regions have their own local languages that signal the Spanish desire for independence.
During Franco’s reign local languages were banned and only Castilian (the main form of Spanish) was allowed to be spoken. Nowadays books are printed in the local languages, TV and radio stations broadcast, media is printed and children study at school in them.
