Spanish Weddings
If you’re invited to a Spanish wedding take the opportunity to attend as they’re great fun and a very lively affair! There could be at least a couple of hundred guests, as all members of the family and friends will be invited and the Spanish see a wedding as the joining of two families, not just two people.
The wedding is likely not to start until early evening and will go on until the early hours or all night, so make sure you’ve plenty of energy! They’ll be plenty of food, music, dancing and firecrackers and children will be included in the whole celebration, not be tucked up in bed part way through the evening.
Couples will exchange vows in church and then leave for the celebrations.
Rice is thrown, not confetti, and the groom doesn’t have a best man. There are also no speeches.
