La Solana Boarding Kennels & Cattery is nestled in the Jalon Valley within beautiful surroundings, on the CV-750 between Jalon and Alcalali.
Established in July 2005, La Solana Boarding Kennels & Cattery is owned and run by Phil & Julie, with the help of kennel maids Jill and Julie.
Open to the general public Monday – Friday 10.30 – 13.00 and 16.00 – 18.00. Saturday 10.30 – 13.00
The kennels consists of a total of 24 pens of which 18 have both inside and outside space, however all dogs are fully enclosed at night. The pens are large with plenty of space and are able to accommodate more than one animal if a family requires staying. All kennels are supplied with bedding & blankets but some customers provide their own as some pets like to have a few home comforts with them. There is also a large enclosed dog run area for the dogs to exercise in.
The cattery has a total of 17 pens of which 9 have both inside and outside space. Again the pens are spacious and able to accommodate more than one cat if required. All contain baskets and bedding for the comfort of your pet.
A local vet is available to us 24 hours a day in case of emergencies.
Prices are 8 euros per day for dogs (regardless of size as all require the same level of care and attention). Cats are 6 euros per day. All prices are subject to 18% IVA Government Tax.
Included in the price are 2 walks per day for the dogs, food, baskets, blankets and bedding for all the animals. We recommend providing your own food especially if your animal has a special dietary requirement. Many customers provide the own beds, blankets and treats.
We have cats/dogs for as little as one-day stays and up to six months if required (for pets going back to live in the UK).
We do insist that for every animal staying with us, the owners provide proof of up to date vaccinations and the Pet Passport. It is also imperative that dogs staying have been fully inoculated against kennel cough.
The team really enjoy looking after their customers pets and also feel the animals are comfortable and well cared for. Nothing is too much trouble.
Owners are encouraged to come and view our facilities prior to a first booking. It is important to us not only to care for your pets but to build relationships with their owners.
Also on site is the newly opened Shampooches Dog Grooming Parlour.
Julie attended an intensive Dog Grooming Course in Southern Spain taken by an English trained Dog Groomer. She learnt all about the art of dog grooming from brushing, bathing, drying, ear cleaning, emptying of anal glands, claw clipping and actual styling.
At Shampooches we offer two packages:
The Doggie Wash ´n´Go
This entails a thorough brush, then bathing of the dog with good quality shampoos and conditioners, followed by a blow dry and a nice spray of doggie perfume. This is designed for our customer’s dogs that have stayed in the kennels and would like their dogs spruced up before leaving. We also welcome customers who haven’t had dogs staying in kennels but would purely like their dog tidied up. Prices start from only 10€.
Full Doggie Make-Over
This is a package consist of the Doggie Wash ´n´Go with extras such as ear cleaning, anal glands emptied, claws clipped and a grooming style to the owners specification. The price for the full package starts at only 25€.
